Hey,
My name is Abhilasha Singh Raghuvanshi . Here is something I want to share with you ……
Being an MBBS student and aspiring to be a doctor, I thought of helping people in relieving their physical pain and making them happy, only to realise in the end that treating the wounds on the body doesn’t heal a person completely!
I got an opportunity to lead and contribute in the FAC (Fight Against COVID) group during COVID -19 Pandemic .Being totally absorbed in a hectic schedule, I couldn’t answer back an urgent call one day and the regret stays with me, till today.
I lost one of my dear friends (also a volunteer in FAC) due to mental abuse.
Traumatic past life experiences and judgmental eyes on her led her to make some wrong decisions. I happened to be her comfy space where she could share every bit of her mind and heart without getting judged.
Her demise triggered the desire in me to work against mental abuse and illness.
Instead of holding on to the daggering grief, I decided:
I lost one but I’ll help the other one!
I started working on projects and plans but doubted the clarity of actions.
Months later , the news of my mother’s odd behaviour after the hysteroscopy left me confused and shattered. I was taken aback when my phone rang at 1 o’clock, late at night.
It was my mother. She behaved differently. She talked differently.
When I came back to India and met her , I didn’t take minutes to realise and figure out that she needed immediate medical help. She needed a Psychiatrist.
We immediately booked the sessions and the psychiatrist confirmed the lurking fear in me ….
The centre of my happiness -my Maa, was suffering from mental health issues. I was so close to her but couldn’t sense her sadness for years.
By God’s grace, she is fine now and is healing from within after medications and treatment. I’m grateful to the Universe for answering my prayers .
No one’s mother, father, family or friend should go through what mine went through!
This feeling pushed me to work on my plans and projects without doubting the clarity of my actions.
My intention was my strength!
I proposed the idea of helping people battling with mental health issues to some of my friends (now core members of ABHA) on Mother’s Day on 12th May, 2024
and registered ABHA officially on 21st June, 2024.
Since then,
